“With customer satisfaction at the forefront of Melita’s strategy, we’re building the best networks in Europe. This started with the launch of gigabit home internet – GigaPower – in November, which will be available to 60% of homes by end July. We are now complimenting this with the launch of our 5G-ready mobile network that will be available nationwide by end of year”, explained Melita CEO, Harald Roesch.
Mario Bacchini, Head of Ericsson Malta said, “Ericsson is proud to work with such a forward-thinking company as Melita. Malta has always been at the forefront of digital technology, today is a milestone in our long-term partnership with Melita and starts their journey towards 5G.”
When addressing the launch of Melita’s 5G-ready mobile network, Parliamentary Secretary for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation Silvio Schembri said that this achievement is coming at a perfect timing. “Last week Malta obtained better results than countries like Germany and France in the Digital Economy and Social Index. In fact Malta classified in the 12th place amongst European countries and the study looked into 4 different aspects; internet connectivity, human capital, use of internet services, the integration of digital technology and digital public services including e-Government and e-Health Services. This encourages us to keep on going with our vision by being at the forefront in the digital aspect by means of strengthening our ecosystem, boost innovation and embracing new technology” said Schembri. Silvio Schembri said that the launch of the new achievement by Melita is a proof of Malta’s strong ecosystem and infrastructure .
“Today, Melita also announced a new mobile plan – Flow3 – their most flexible plan which offers great value. For only €15 per month Flow3 comes packed with 20 GB of MelitaWiFi, unlimited SMS and 300 local minutes or 3 GB of data depending on the user’s needs in a particular month. Anyone subscribing to this plan will be amongst the first to benefit from our 5G-ready network’s capabilities,” explained Mireille Muscat, Head of Marketing at Melita.
