Melita Supporting Hospice Malta
As a way to give back to the community, the team at Melita organised a fundraising event in aid of Hospice Malta to help them in their mission to provide palliative care to persons suffering from life-threatening illnesses, free of charge. Melita donated an amount of €4,500, €2,000 raised solely by the employees themselves, as a thank you for the valuable work that Hospice have done and will continue to do in the future.
By offering emotional, psychological, and physical aid, Hospice Malta helps to maintain the quality of life of patients. Care, compassion, and dignity are three of their values which they hold close to heart.
Melita Foundation and Heritage Malta
Melita Foundation committed to supporting the conservation of Maltese Cultural Heritage. As part of this commitment, an amount of €15,000 was donated to Heritage Malta in aid of the Olea Project.
This sponsorship contributed towards the two main research areas of the Olea Project: an extended Ground Penetrating Radar and the ongoing carbon-dating of an olive grove in Bidnija.
Supporting Education
In collaboration with ICE Malta, Melita Foundation supported eSkills Malta Foundation, a sponsorship scheme that gives 65 individuals the opportunity to level-up with cloud technologies for free and enjoy online world-class learning.
Salesjani Senglea
Melita Foundation will be supporting Salesjani Senglea in the restoration of the façade of the Church of Porto Salvo, known as San Filippu.
Salesjani Senglea work to encourage youngsters to engage in their community by providing a safe space to interact, by restoring heritage buildings and by supporting people in the area.
One for Our Furry Friends
Melita decided to go ahead and come together to record a fun dancing video to collect funds for animal sanctuaries. The video was very well-received with the audience, and it generated a number of shares which resulted in funds for our furry friends.
Furthermore, the team at Melita also donated to increase the contribution towards the animal sanctuaries to sponsor over 30 cats and dogs from different sanctuaries across the Maltese Islands.
