For people working in our industry, new advances in technology are what keeps us motivated. So, when technology helps improve people’s lives, we get more excited than ever. Such was the case with one of the recent projects that the Melita Foundation got involved in and supported.
Dar Tal-Providenza is an indispensable organisation in Malta. It offers much-needed residential services to people with disabilities, offering a family-like environment to people who for some reason cannot live in their family homes, due to their conditions and disabilities.
Part of Dar Tal-Providenza in Siggiewi includes an olive grove that is close to an extraordinary picnic area that is enjoyed by many of its residents. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this area was a lifeline to many residents, their families, and even to employees and volunteers of the home.
To make sure the olive trees that were generously provided by several benefactors thrive; guaranteeing a beautiful, shaded area that can be enjoyed all year round, The Melita Foundation funded the maintenance of the Olive Grove.
A few scout groups that are close to the home also utilise this space, and the area also serves as a location for different outdoor activities that the home organises throughout the year.
The Melita Foundation supports projects that help develop digital skills and creativity. It also supports projects that help protect and conserve our heritage and environment.
